Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need Claude Pro?
Sentinel works alongside any Claude Code install — Claude Pro, Max, or Team. It does not require a specific Claude tier. You do need an Anthropic API key for LearnWatch (the graduation pipeline), which has its own usage costs billed directly to you by Anthropic.
Does Sentinel send my code anywhere?
No. All scan results, findings, and session data stay on your machine. The only outbound calls are: license verification (your key hash, no code), heartbeat (confirming subscription active), and optional error reports (stack traces only, opt-in). Your codebase never leaves your machine.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your installed version keeps running. Scanners, hooks, skills, and agents all continue to work. You stop receiving weekly updates via Sparkle. We never disable or cripple your existing install — you paid for what you have.
Can I use Sentinel on multiple machines?
Solo: 1 machine. Pro: 1 machine. Team: 3 machines. If you need to move to a new machine, deactivate on the old one first via Settings → License → Sign out.
What is your refund policy?
30-day no-questions refund on any plan. Email [email protected] within 30 days of purchase and we will process a full refund via LemonSqueezy.
How often does Sentinel update?
Weekly on Fridays. Every update goes through a 3-layer review: automated regex scan, AI semantic review, and a 30-minute human skim. You receive only what passes all three gates.
Does Sentinel work without an internet connection?
Yes. All scanning runs locally. The only features that require connectivity are license activation and update checks — both of which cache for 30 days, so you can work offline for extended periods.
Can I add my own scanners or skills?
Not in v1. Sentinel ships a curated set of 21–34 scanners and 30 skills. Custom scanner support is planned for v1.5. If there is a scanner you want added to the curated set, email [email protected].
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 13 Ventura and later. Apple Silicon and Intel both supported.
Is there a trial?
Not currently — use the 30-day refund as your trial period. If you are unsure whether Sentinel fits your workflow, try it for a week and refund if it does not.
